WiFi in Camera Memory Cards
Wow, WiFi is in every little gadgets these days. I guess with the growing number of Social Networks site, there’s a greater demand for gadgets that will allow users to easily connect to the Internet and share their pictures.
While there’s a growing number of mobile phones with good camera resolution, mobile phones are still a long way from replacing stand-alone digital cameras that’s why most people prefer to upload photos taken from their digital cameras. While you can get WiFi into almost all gadgets, it’s harder to do that for digital cameras, that’s why the company called Eye-Fi decided to put WiFi chips into a memory card instead.
Eye-Fi’s WiFi enabled memory cards will allow digital camera users to upload their photos to their mobile blogs or their Flickr account. Users will be able to set which social networking site would their photos be automatically uploaded.
This is a nice idea, however, Eye-Fi would have to make sure that their WiFi chips can maintain a good signal because users would be frustrated if they spend all of their time trying to upload their pictures.
