Another Netbook “that’s not a netbook” from Sony
Remember the Sony P-Series notebook that Sony has been vehemently denying as NOT a netbook? Well, granting that it has a pricetag of $999.99, well above the price range of most regular netbooks, then yeah, so it’s not a netbook. So if the P-series is not their netbook, could the new VAIO Mini W-series be–gasp!! Sony’s actual netbook.
The specifications is “netbooky” enough: 10.1″ X-Black LCD, Intel Atom N280 1.66 GHz processor, 160GB SATA hard drive, WiFi, Bluetooth, Webcam, Windows XP Home. Of course, knowing Sony, they’d probably slap a high price tag just to justify that this is NOT a netbook. Word has it that the price of the Sony Mini-W Series is around £450, cheaper than the P series but still more expensive than other netbooks in the market. It’s supposedly available for pre-order in Sony Style UK website but I still don’t see it, release date is around August.
